Special Recognition Award.
Reading In Motion was one of only
22 reading programs selected by the Chicago Public Schools to provide
service to its 200 lowest-performing schools.

Reading In Motion was the recipient
of the Distinguished Public Service Award given by DePaul University's
Public Services Graduate Program.
Research on the correlation between
Reading In Motion's drama-based reading instruction and improved
reading comprehension test scores merited a juried article in The
Journal of Educational Research.
Two of Reading In Motion's research studies were
cited in a report by Harvard University, entitled "The Arts
and Academic Improvement: What the Evidence Shows."
1999
In 1999, the Illinois Theatre Association
awarded Karl Androes with an Outstanding Contribution Award for Reading In Motion's use of creative dramatics to teach reading.
