Reading In Motion received the Arts & Business Council of Chicago’s ABBY Award for Arts/Business Partnership with Quaker Oats.
 

Executive Director Karl Androes was awarded the Benjamin Gingiss Service Award by the Illinois Humane Society for exemplifying the Society's mission of benefiting disadvantaged children in the State of Illinois.

2001

Reading In Motion received The American Alliance for Theatre and Education’s Lin Wright Special Recognition Award.
 

Reading In Motion was one of only 22 reading programs selected by the Chicago Public Schools to provide service to its 200 lowest-performing schools.

2000

Reading In Motion was the recipient of the Distinguished Public Service Award given by DePaul University's Public Services Graduate Program.
 
Research on the correlation between Reading In Motion's drama-based reading instruction and improved reading comprehension test scores merited a juried article in The Journal of Educational Research.
 
Two of Reading In Motion's research studies were cited in a report by Harvard University, entitled "The Arts and Academic Improvement: What the Evidence Shows."

1999

In 1999, the Illinois Theatre Association awarded Karl Androes with an Outstanding Contribution Award for Reading In Motion's use of creative dramatics to teach reading.

1997

Reading In Motion received the Arts & Business Council of Chicago’s Management Excellence Award (1997).
