Director of Program Implementation
Part Time Assessment Raters

Director of Program Implementation

Want to do something tangible to improve the world, especially for urban children in Chicago? Want to see the effect of your efforts every day you're at work? If so, this is the job and organization for you! One of the key positions at Reading In Motion - Director of Program Implementation - is now open.

This position directs 8 programs staff as they implement our nationally-recognized reading programs in over 20 elementary schools in Chicago per year. As a result of this position's efforts, more than 3,000 Kindergarten to 3rd graders will be more successful readers next year. Amazing!

Now celebrating our 25th year, Reading In Motion (RIM) develops and implements arts-based reading programs that get results. What the children know is that their teacher is now letting them do something FUN for a change - singing catchy songs and acting out engaging stories. But 8 rigorous studies have demonstrated they are also doing something more - becoming successful readers in far greater numbers than children in other rooms! Three academic journals and Harvard researchers have published our results, too.

As Director of Program Implementation, you'll be managing, developing and scheduling eight talented program staff who coach teachers in our methods, test students monthly to see their progress, and maintain positive relationships all year long with RIM's 20-plus schools. If you'd like to help give urban children a decent shot at successful futures, you'll love this key job in our groundbreaking organization.

The Director of Program Implementation reports directly to the Executive Director and is a member of the organization's senior management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with 3-5 years of experience managing others, ideally in school or childcare settings. Salary and benefits (medical, dental, matching 401(k), generous vacation plan, etc.) are competitive. Send cover letter and resume by email to: Kristi Amendola at KristiA@readinginmotion.org.
