Children have demonstrated their ability to collaborate through drawings and story in the following ways:

1. Collaborative drawing side by side, copying each other in order to create a symmetrical effect.

2. Collaborative drawing where each child draws their own version: of a house in the first example,
a rainstorm in the second example, and a playground and school in the third example.

3. Collaborative drawing that results in a collaborative story between two children.
Here we see examples of the power of friendship and family in the stories of kindergarteners.
We go to the playground. The pink windows have my friends that were visiting my house. My friends are playing on the playground, playing hide and go seek. This is me, my brothers and my friend that I just met. These friends are playing ring around the rosy. These are some people playing jump rope outside, having fun. This is me and my 3 sisters and my cousin and my mom going to the store.

We were thinking about making airplanes. They are going to the airport to pick up other people and fly them to work. The people work in a city and in a pharmacy and at a doctor. We wanted to make sentences. We wanted to make hearts. We made houses so people could come in and have coffee. We made flowers. We could pick them for our moms. We were working hard. That’s what friends do.

This is a story about the 7 little dolphins. The mommy, the baby dolphin, the daddy dolphin, the 2 brother dolphins and the 2 sister dolphins. This man is teaching his dolphins. His brother and sister are dancing and the blue seashore is jumping all around them. This is a rainbow. This is the candy house that the man lives in.
